Vanessa Dodson, DVM
   Back

Dr. Vanessa Dodson grew up in upstate New York, and attended Cornell University for her undergraduate degree. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2002. She has been practicing small animal medicine since then, both day practice and some emergency work.

Dr. D's family consists of her husband, Tom, and their daughters Madeline (5) and Amelia (3). The Dodson animal family is made up of 3 dogs and 3 cats. The youngest dog, Cooper, you will often see at the clinic when she is working. He is a Jack Russell Terrier, and he owes his life to Stacy and Nikki – they saved him as a puppy with 2 broken legs. He stayed at the clinic for a couple of months, recovering from surgery, and then went home with Dr. Dodson where he became a permanent member of their household. He still considers the clinic his second home and loves everyone who works there.

Dr. Dodson has been working with Pet Care Associates part-time since January of 2005. She says, “I enjoy all aspects of small animal practice, but especially enjoy surgery, dentistry, and feline medicine. I really enjoy the personal touch that Pet Care Associates offers to its clients, and the high quality of medicine that is standard.”

Our main objective is personalized compassionate veterinary care for small animals. Although most of our patients are dogs and cats, we do treat a limited number of rabbits, guinea pigs and other ‘pocket pets’. “Service with a smile” would best describe our clinic policy. We seek to provide a comfortable and friendly environment for our patients, clients and staff. Caring, concerned and proficient describe our patient care. Our medical goals are to be competent, effective, thorough, and fairly priced. We do our utmost to provide quality diagnostic, medical, and surgical services.
